The Daily News gave a time of about 5:35 a.m.; CBS reported around 5:36 a.m. The Daily News described the crash as early Saturday in an article published October 10, 2026, so October 10 is inferred from that relative reference rather than stated as an explicit crash date.

The Kia driver's death was confirmed, but injury counts differed.

Medics pronounced the 66-year-old woman driving the Kia dead at the scene, according to ABC7, the Daily News and CBS. CBS said her identity had not been released by Saturday evening.

ABC7 and the Daily News reported that four others were hospitalized: the Range Rover's 36-year-old driver, the Jeep's 21-year-old driver, and two Jeep passengers, a 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man. ABC7 reported all four were stable, and the Daily News said they were expected to survive. CBS reported three injured people rather than four and said they were stable.

Investigators had announced no arrests by publication.

ABC7 and the Daily News reported that the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad was investigating and no arrests had been made when their reports were published. ABC7 and CBS said those involved remained at the scene.
