Pickup driver fatally hit cyclist in Cypress Hills, police say

Police told the Daily News that a 29-year-old woman was riding her bike west on Jamaica Avenue near Cypress Hills Street at about 5:50 a.m. when a driver in a white pickup, also traveling west, hit her and did not stop. Medics took her from the scene outside Cypress Hills Cemetery to Brookdale University Hospital, where she died. Police said the cyclist was wearing a helmet, and the driver was last seen heading north on Cypress Hills Street.
A westbound ride on Jamaica Avenue ended in a fatal hit-and-run
Police said the woman was riding west on Jamaica Avenue in Cypress Hills at about 5:50 a.m. when a driver in a white pickup traveling the same way hit her near Cypress Hills Street.
Medics took her to Brookdale University Hospital, where she died. Police said she was wearing a helmet.
Police said the driver did not stop
According to police, the driver was last seen heading north on Cypress Hills Street and had not been caught when the Daily News reported the crash.
