Nilufar Komilova was identified after the crash
amNY reported that police identified the woman killed as Nilufar Komilova, 31. The Daily News later described her as a mother of two.
A family friend told the Daily News that Komilova had just dropped off her 7-year-old daughter at Public School 99 and was walking home when the driver hit her two blocks from her apartment.
The driver was operating a city DOT dump truck
The official record lists the involved vehicle as a 2017 Mack dump truck with one occupant and right-front-bumper impact and damage. News accounts described it as a yellow city Department of Transportation dump truck.
Police told reporters the driver remained at the scene. Initial reports said no arrest was made immediately after the crash.
