Kianna Underwood was identified after the crash

Police focused on a Ford Explorer and a sedan

The official record lists a westbound Ford SUV in the crash. The Daily News reported that police seized a black 2021 Ford Explorer after locating its owner, while investigators were reviewing surveillance to determine who had been driving.

The Daily News also reported that police were still looking for the driver of a black-and-gray sedan that police sources said hit Underwood after the first impact. ABC7’s earlier report described a grey vehicle and did not identify a second driver.

No charges were immediately filed

The Daily News reported that the Ford Explorer’s owner told police he was getting a lawyer and would not answer questions. Police sources said no charges were immediately filed as investigators continued reviewing surveillance and looking for the sedan driver.
