A 24-year-old moped rider and his passenger hit a turning sedan on Pennsylvania Avenue near Pitkin. Police recorded unsafe speed for the rider. He died of head injuries after being ejected; his passenger was ejected and injured.

According to the police report, a 24-year-old man driving a moped south on Pennsylvania Avenue with a passenger hit a northbound sedan that was making a left turn onto Pitkin Avenue. Police recorded unsafe speed for the moped rider and his passenger. The rider was ejected and died of head injuries. His 28-year-old male passenger was also ejected and treated for abrasions to his body.
