Feb 9–16: three crashes left four people seriously hurt in Council District 32. A 7-year-old was struck in a marked crosswalk on Pitkin Ave.
Council District 32 was supposed to be quiet. It was not.
From Feb 9 to Feb 16, three crashes left four people seriously injured. On Feb 10, a driver in an SUV hit a 7-year-old girl in a marked crosswalk at Pitkin Ave and Redding St. Police logged pedestrian error or confusion. Two more serious-injury crashes followed on Jackie Robinson Pkwy.
Council Member Joann Ariola can press DOT for daylighting, hardened daylighting, and speed control on the district’s worst corridors.
